Description
Original watercolour on cotton paper, mounted on wooden panel with a wax surface finish.
A vibrant bunch of sweet pea flowers, fresh from my garden. I use a technique called glazing for the flower petals, this involves painting multiple layers of semi transparent pigment until an intense colour is achieved.
I have painted the flowers onto heavy cotton watercolour paper, this has then been applied to a wooden panel with deep sides, and then a wax coating has been applied to seal the image. This method of mounting gives a fresh contemporary feel to a traditional medium.
The wood panel is is 67 x 52 cm, and 4.5 cm deep.
The painting is sealed with a wax finish and ready to hang with picture wire.
